The man who made Jim Rockford the coolest private investigator on television. Born James Scott Bumgarner in Norman, Oklahoma, Garner starred in Maverick, The Great Escape, Victor/Victoria, Murphy's Romance (Oscar-nominated), Space Cowboys, and The Notebook. A Purple Heart recipient from the Korean War. The Screen Actors Guild gave him their Lifetime Achievement Award because even they knew — this man was a Robert at heart.
